Immunovet is more than an immune boosting feeding material for animals. It is a unique nutritional supplement made from biotechnologically transformed wheat (Triticum vulgare) germ. The active compound is a mixture of bioactive molecules, among others benzoquinones and their methoxy-substituated forms. The bioactive compounds are formed during a highly controlled biotechnological process with a special fermentation of wheat germ by a certain strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Immunovet has a positive effect on the non-specific cellular immune system. The cellular immune system is to protect against the infectious agents that cause various diseases. Antibodies are substances in the blood plasma that fight infections. Cell-mediated immunity is an immune response that does not involve antibodies or complement but rather involves the activation of macrophages, natural killer cells (NK), antigen-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocytes, and the release of various cytokines in response to an antigen. The living body activates the lymphocytes when infections occur. We can test the capability of the cellular immune system with lymphocyte stimulations tests (LST). With Immunovet, these lymphocytes appear in the blood quicker and the immune response is stronger causing a quicker and better remedy from infectious diseases.
